- A raised wineglass will be more likely to contain Italy’s famed Prosecco, the refreshing sparkling wine, now that the consortium of Prosecco producers has named MacKenzie Agency its public relations agency of record. Consorzio per la Tutela del Prosecco di Conegliano – Valdobbiadene, a trade group formed by wineries in the region known as the Veneto, northwest of Venice, selected MacKenzie Agency to handle its U.S. media relations and event production. Prosecco is the popular Italian sparkler known for its consistently high quality, accessible price point, and compatibility with a wide variety of foods. Proseccos produced on the 15-mile “wine road” stretching from Conegliano west to Valdobbiadene are designated DOC (denominazione di origine controllata), signifying that they comply with strict standards regulating the vineyard, grape varietal, wine production method, and overall quality.
