April 2008 - A cookbook and diet book conceived by the MacKenzie
Agency and written by Bruce Falstein is nominated for a James Beard
Award for outstanding new title in the diet book category. "The Wine
& Food Lovers' Diet" by Philip Tirman, MD, was published in 2007 by
Chronicle Books. It contains some 200 pages of text and full-color
photographs, with 100 recipes for meals that combine delicious ingredients
that rate low on the Glycemic Index of foods.
CAKEBREAD CELLARS TAPS MACKENZIE FOR AMERICAN HARVEST WORKSHOP
March 2008 - MacKenzie Agency will handle media relations
for Cakebread Cellars' 22nd annual American Harvest Workshop. Hosted
by Napa Valley visionaries Jack and Dolores Cakebread, the September
6-10, 2008 event gathers chefs, farmstead producers and the wine/food
media for four days of wide-ranging discussions, education, wine &
food tastings, and professional networking. Cakebread Cellars is among
the most celebrated wineries in Napa Valley. Founded more than 30
years ago, the family-owned and operated winery in St. Helena, CA,
was a pioneer of the Napa Valley lifestyle movement, which emphasizes
the enhancement of the dining experience by careful pairing of food

ITALY’S PROSECCO PRODUCERS TURN TO MACKENZIE

2008 - A raised wineglass will be more likely to contain
Italy’s famed Prosecco, the refreshing sparkling wine, now that the
consortium of Prosecco producers has named MacKenzie Agency its public
relations agency of record. Consorzio per la Tutela del Prosecco di
Conegliano – Valdobbiadene, a trade group formed by wineries in the
region known as the Veneto, northwest of Venice, selected MacKenzie
Agency to handle its U.S. media relations and event production. Prosecco
is the popular Italian sparkler known for its consistently high quality,
accessible price point, and compatibility with a wide variety of foods.
Proseccos produced on the 15-mile “wine road” stretching from Conegliano
west to Valdobbiadene are designated DOC (denominazione di origine
controllata), signifying that they comply with strict standards
regulating the vineyard, grape varietal, wine production method, and
overall quality.

in the Outstanding Communications: Print Advertising category. CASE

2008 - Joseph Schmidt Confectioner, part of the Artisan Chocolate
division of Hershey Foods, named MacKenzie Agency its agency of record
for public relations. The year-long campaign will feature national
media relations and tie-ins with top retailers. Joseph Schmidt is
the second Artisan Chocolate division on the agency's prestigious
client list. In 2006, Scharffen Berger Chocolate Maker asked MacKenzie
Agency to helped raise its profile among professional chefs and the
"foodie" community. In 2007, Scharffen Berger named MacKenzie its
