An immediate past-president of Les Dames d'Escoffier, San Francisco chapter, Karen is actively involved with Women for Wine Sense and the Society of Wine Educators, as well as the New York Women's Culinary Alliance.
Karen will judge the 2010 International Food & Wine Book Awards for the International Association of Culinary Professionals as she did in 2009. She is a recipient of the Clarion Award, bestowed annually by Women in Communications recognizing the top journalists, writers and communicators in the United States.
